For close-up and distance shots, the optical and digital zoom are two features that you need to pay attention to. There is a difference between optical and digital zoom. Optical zoom utilizes the lens to bring the image of the photography subject close-up. Digital zoom does not use the lens, and rather than actually zooming, it simply enlarges a portion of your image.
